Tax Intern

What I liked

This summer was well spent, applying what I learned in my tax class in a real world environment every day! My co-workers were extremely nice, patient, and fun to work with. I got to work on many of the clients based out of the Arizona office and some clients based out of the Las Vegas office. I worked on a variety of different tax returns, kept the bookkeeping for 40+ different entities, and helped where I could around the office. The firm took all of the interns to Las Vegas for a weekend training and intern day. We went to Top Golf, a nice dinner, and Cirque du Soleil. I had a fantastic time working for UDALL CPA Group over the summer.

What I wish was different

I know that summer isn't the busiest time for taxes, and the partner was doing his best to keep me and the other intern busy with unique opportunities, but there were times when we almost ran out of work to do. If there was a way to keep the interns busier more often, that would have made the experience even better!

Advice

Take advantage of the environment you are in at UDALL CPA Group. Ask questions, and learn as much as you can, as the partner and the other employees there are a great font of knowledge to draw upon. They want you to ask questions. They want you to learn. They want you to succeed. So, take advantage of it! Soak up as many tax and life tips you can get from them!
