IT Security Analyst Intern

July - December 2019 • Lowell, MA

What I liked

The community of the team. No one hogs information and everyone is available to help you and be a resource. The management team is always offering to help and is extremely encouraging.

What I wish was different

I wish this co-op was longer. I had such a great time working here and feel like I have learned so much that I just want to be able to continue learning here with this team and make even more of a difference in the company.

Advice

Just be yourself. This team was so open and honest and unapologetically unique that I felt so comfortable speaking my mind and asking for help. Even in environments very different to this, sticking to what you believe and being yourself is never something bad.

Talent Acquisition and Analytics Intern

June - August 2019 • Chelmsford, MA

What I liked

I loved the workplace culture! They have this incredible work-life balance that was so cool to see as an intern. They also really care about their interns and believe that they are the future of the workforce. I love that! I got to interview as many people as I wanted within the company to help me figure out what I want to do when I graduate. Also I had REAL work to do, not just busy work. What I did contributed to the department on the whole, which was incredible and meaningful.

What I wish was different

There's really nothing I would change about my experience. It was life-changing.

Advice

Network as much as possible! You have this incredible opportunity and group of people who want to help, so take advantage of it and get out of your comfort zone.

Video Production Intern

May - August 2019 • Lowell, MA

What I liked

Flexible hours - as long as I worked 40 hours per week, I was able to go into and leave work whenever suited me. The open time off policy meant I could go to appointments without the fear of asking for time off. The commute was less than five minutes from my house. The wages are competitive - no where else had offered even close to the amount of money Kronos did. I was able to join real meetings regarding real projects that went live - it was such a rewarding experience.

What I wish was different

Nothing!

Advice

Expand your network while you can at any internship!

Intern

June - September 2019 • Lowell, MA

What I liked

Everyone at Kronos was always so nice and helpful. If I ever had a question I could ask anyone and they would answer with a smile on their face. The friendly environment made it a desirable place to work. On top of the culture I had the opportunity to work with two teams so I gained knowledge from multiple departments; it was a great learning experience!

What I wish was different

Advice

I believe the reason I got hired was partly because of the school. I applied to a co-op at Kronos last year. Although I didn't get the job I did gain contacts at Kronos. I did end up getting another co-op for that rotation, but as the summer was approaching I still wanted to explore working at a technology company. So I reached out to the contacts that I gained at Kronos and told them about my co-op experience and what skills I gained. I ended up getting an interview through those email transactions and getting the job after a couple of rounds of interviews. So the piece of advice I want to give to other students is to be ambitious and resilient. Don't give up on a company if you think you want to work there. If you don't get the job you are going for take another position, gain some experience and reapply.

Employee communications

January - May 2019 • Lowell, MA

What I liked

I liked my team overall and the companies culture

What I wish was different

My manager was not great, I felt right from the start she did not like me or want me there even in the interview. It was a bit of a hostile work environment

Advice

Don’t hesitate to ask what you are doing wrong even if you don’t think you are, if you get the feeling your boss is unhappy but they themselves won’t tell you why, ask. Your job could be on the line without you knowing.
