United Food Bank

Volunteer

May 2020 • Tulsa, OK

What I liked

Friendly people. Great way to give back to the community and help others.

What I wish was different

Advice

I think this is a good experience for everyone. I would just advise someone to get to know those you're helping, listen to their stories. You can really learn from it all.

Congressional Intern

May - August 2021 • Mesa, AZ

What I liked

I work 40 hours a week on-the-job at the anti-hunger organization United Food Bank in Mesa, AZ. I did professional development and leadership development through anti-hunger learning opportunities in the Summer Seminars. I helped to audit and train at distribution sites throughout Arizona and even was able to assist displaced residents during the wildfires.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have attended the conference I helped plan, but had to go back to school.

Advice

Always help when you can.
