the unit was very organized and the staff was very supportive. I was able to learn a lot throughout my experience and will utilize all my newly acquired skills in future clinical practice.
What I wish was different
I wish I had more support from my school and course professor throughout the experience, especially since I had never even been in a critical care unit.

be sure to complete a critical care class before jumping into the internship

I wish it were more structured. My schedule each day was planned last minute and sometimes there was not anything for me to do.

Every nursing student should apply for this when they get the chance to. The tremendous amount of learning I experienced just in my junior year really helped with my senior year classes.; and you get paid for it to? You will not have a chance like this again!

That I didnt have to work full time and attend school full time while having two kids, would have liked to taken some time off of work

I will always stay in emergency medicine, I love the thrill, fast pace and the fact I am always learning. I encourage new nurses or students to shadow in the ER

I was able to act independently as a nurse intern under the supervision of a nurse preceptor on an OB unit and learn what it’s like in real world nursing.

I wish that it wasn’t so far from my house and since it was Ob I wasn’t able to be as independent as I’d like.

The staff is amazing. The company really cares for their employees as well. We get many perks and parties. Also, working with the patients is great.

I wish we weren't as understaffed as we were. Having some more people to cover different days, and so I wouldn't have had to work extra
