Undergraduate Research Assistant
June 2018 • Newark, DE
What I liked
I like that I was in charge of my own project and was given a substantial amount of responsibility and trust by my research professor, more than I was expecting as an undergraduate research assistant.
What I wish was different
I wish we had more opportunities to present our research to other professors or peers.
Advice
The easiest way to find research on campus is to look on the faculty page for the department of the research you are interested in. There you can find the research interests of different professors. After finding a research group that interests you, send e-mails and visit office hours. Don't take rejections personally because many research groups simply can not take on another undergrad.
