I loved being able to set my own schedule and dive into research full time. The blend of autonomy and support from graduate students and senior scientists was great, as I was able to ask my own questions but get as much help as I needed from more experienced members of the lab. I learned many new techniques and left the summer feeling much more confident in myself and my lab skills.

Advice
I would advise people going into this experience to be flexible! Lab work comes and goes, so while one week may be light on work, the next might have you coming in on the weekends due to the volume of tasks.
