What I liked

It matched my interests in environmental science and natural resource management. It was also local, but far enough away to escape my hometown.

What I wish was different

I wish I had been able to bring a car to Minneapolis so that I could get around more easily.

Summer Research Assistant

What I liked

I liked having the ability to have full-time, hands-on experience in a graduate-level lab. I was able to work on my own project with input from the graduate students in the lab and regular meetings (daily) with the PI of the lab. Additionally, weekly seminars allowed me to improve my presentation skills.

What I wish was different

Advice

Don't be afraid to ask questions if you don't understand something. You aren't expected to know everything, and they want you to ask questions, it shows you care about what you're doing and want to learn as much as possible.
