Student Worker - retail

August 2017 • Dahlonega, GA

What I liked

I liked the flexibility of the schedule and the closeness of it being an on-campus job (which allowed me to take on more hours or have more free time in my day). I had the job in addition to two summer classes, so I appreciated that it gave me a little more structure to my day and ensured that I actually did something productive.

What I wish was different

I wish I had taken on more hours so that I could have saved more for the future.

Advice

While it may seem more fun to have a free summer, taking advantage of working during a time when you have less responsibilities to worry about is always a great idea! It allows you to save for the future and helps you to continue balancing your time, along with preparing you for the schedule in your future career

Marketing Assistant

May - August 2018 • Dahlonega, GA

What I liked

What I wish was different

Advice

This internship was very insightful on how the digital marketing realm works. I spent a lot of time doing independent projects and being a self-starter. My advice would be to choose an internship, or job position, based on something you are passionate about. It is hard to be motivated and self-starting when you aren’t not passionate about the subject.
