I got to assist a graduate student on her thesis project. I learned a lot about what it meant to pursue a PhD in the ecological field. I also gained valuable hands on research experience, both in the field and in the lab, while expanding my network.
What I wish was different
There was a lot of repetition in the lab, that seemed tedious at times.
Advice
To appreciate the opportunity given, and to cherish each time you get to be out in the field on a sunny day.
