Vantage Global

Account Executive Intern (PR and Marketing)

May - August 2019 • Washington, DC

What I liked

The People and the Personal Growth. The culture was super young, loud and fast paced; median office age was 21. I learned a lot about sales, customer service and time management skills. I even got promoted to Account Manager to interview, hire and train my own team.

What I wish was different

The amount of hours I worked and the payment structure. I worked 6 days a week (7 when I was pushing for promotion) from 8am-8pm and was solely paid on commissions. My clients could also contact me at all hours of the day, work-life balance wasn't real. Oh and I was selling Cable.

Advice

Honestly, if you're strapped for cash go for it. It isn't your traditional internship and it is not a comfy office experience. It is TRULY taxing on the body and mind but if you are really good at it, you can make a lot.
