Veracode

Sales Operation Intern

May - August 2019 • Burlington, MA

What I liked

Everyone was super helpful and cared about helping us interns grow. My mentors and managers catered projects and overall tasks towards my interests while also allowing me to challenge myself in the work space. I loved the culture of the company and everyone i worked with!

What I wish was different

I made a lot of friends during my internship at Veracode, however I did not get the chance to meet every intern. There were very few intern events where we were given the chance to mingle with other interns. In general, the intern events were good because it gave us an opportunity to meet new professionals and broaden our network.

Advice

One piece of advice I would like to share is that even though it may be uncomfortable and scary, one should always step out of their comfort zone and challenge themselves.

Security Services Intern

May - August 2018 • Bedford, MA

What I liked

My internship at Veracode was very structured and I always had something to do. It wasn't one of those internships where you are constantly waiting on your boss to give you something, or one of where all you are doing is work that needs to be completed but no one else wants to do. I was doing real work that made an actual impact on the company.

What I wish was different

It was Veracode's first time really having an actual internship program, so I understand why it would be a little bit disorganized at some points. However, some of the intern meetings we had could have just been sent through an email. I also wish we got a little bit more time / activities with the other interns that were not in our department to expand our networks.

Advice

Always ask for more work if you do not have enough! Lots of times, managers are very busy and cannot see if the work they give you is sufficient. To save you boredom and also make you look better, take the responsibility to ask for more or different work.
