Vettery

Business Operations Intern

June - August 2019 • New York City, NY

What I liked

Everyone was really nice and I got to learn a lot. They really tried to cater my experience to meet my long term professional goals, which I thought was very helpful.

What I wish was different

It's definitely not a tightly organized internship program, like ones you would see at big companies. This can be a pro or a con depending on the person.

Advice

You need to really seek out work and be willing to learn. Be proactive and try to get involved in everything they are doing.

Talent Executive

May 2018 • New York City, NY

What I liked

I am still working at Vettery but what I like about my current role is that I have a lot of autonomy. Furthermore, it’s a tech startup so a really young environment with exciting opportunities and growth that really fosters the unique and fun culture.

What I wish was different

I really wish that I honed in more on my career interests in order to fully integrate myself into what I wanted to do career wise following college. I definitely recommended taking advantage of every opportunity to learn about new areas of interest and attending different networking opportunities.

Advice

I know it seems early at times but seriously take the time to really understand your interests and career path. I would recommend taking classes outside of your comfort zone to gauge if that’s something that could interest you or aspects of it. Engage in networking events and take advantage of all opportunities (requires being pretty organized with application dates etc.)
