Vibracoustic

Human Resources Intern

May - August 2021 • South Haven, MI

What I liked

I loved that my first internship was with a global company, but at a fairly small office. I was the only intern in my department, and my department was only made up of about 6 people. This allowed me to form really awesome relationships with my coworkers and made me comfortable asking questions. I believe that I came out with more (+ better!) close mentors at the end of my experience than I would've working at a bigger office. I also liked that I got to have an in-person internship!

What I wish was different

Working for a short-staffed company as an intern was challenging because I didn't always get timely feedback or help. My coworkers did the best they could!

Advice

Ask as many questions as you can! When you're in an internship, your coworkers are EXPECTING you to need help. You don't have to know it all, just know how to ask good questions.

What I wish was different

I wish I had more time to get to know the other interns on a more personal level. More social events would have helped greatly.

Advice

Advice

Don’t be afraid to ask questions. If you aren’t integrated into the automotive industry before starting this job, the managers do a really good job of bringing you up to speed and helping to understand what you will need to effectively do your job.
