Vishay UltraSource

Mechanical Engineering Intern

May - August 2020 • Dover, NH

What I liked

My boss was hands on. He had a very specific kind of education in mind that balanced the freedom i needed to grow with the structure I needed to know what on earth I was doing. Insanely kind work environment, and still very professional.

What I wish was different

My only regret is not having enough time to be there and learn. There was nothing about this experience that was anything but perfect for a first time engineer.

Advice

Ask as many questions as physically possible. Everyone has expertise and you need to absorb it while you can so don't be afraid to ask as many questions as possible. If you think its too early for an internship its not to early to try. I can't imagine what two summers at Vishay would've done for me. Don't be afraid of google, you will need to research in order to find answers in the real word so get used to it and have a location to keep all of that information.
