Visionworks

Optician

November 2018 • Milwaukee, WI

What I liked

I really enjoy the patient time I get at my job. Im learning a lot about patient care and service simultaneously. I’ve been working here for two years now on going. I think it’s because we also get a wide range of groups of people. We are located where students live, the elderly live, business women and men, etcetera.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have had more resources guiding me through the application process. Thankfully, all I needed was to show up to my interview but if I needed to get a license or such I would have like some guidance.

Advice

I think one shouldn’t doubt their abilities of working in a fast environment such as retail optometry. Take it step by step and make sure to communicate with as many people as possible!

third key sales

May 2019 • Eau Claire, WI

What I liked

I loved getting the chance to work in an Optometry setting and have connections with patients and the doctor. As a pre-optometry student, this is invaluable experience and exposure to the field of Optometry that I will carry with me into graduate school.

Nothing

Advice

Come in with an open mind and spend time memorizing all the necessary info in training as it eases customer/patient interaction greatly. There is new things to learn all the time, so it is important to stay on top of everything.
