Wake Forest University

Program Ambassador

June - July 2020 • Winston-Salem, NC

What I liked

I absolutely loved working for the Wake Forest Summer Immersion program. Everyone was incredibly friendly and receptive, and even as a Program Ambassador, I was able to learn alongside the students and was offered the same networking connections they were. I enjoyed working with my team members, and I loved my bosses!

What I wish was different

I wish that I had been given more responsibilities. It was a really fun job, but I wish I could have been a little more challenged. That being said, it was an awesome experience, especially for my first summer in college.

Advice

I would recommend requesting to be a Program Ambassador for the programs you are most interested in, since you will be able to learn a lot about those topics and make some great connections in each field.

Program Assistant

June - August 2022 • Winston-Salem, NC

What I liked

I appreciated my ability in this position to work with both students and professionals in a way that allowed everyone involved to learn from each other. The professionals were, mostly, super kind and the students were excited to learn. I learned more about life and my career goals in this position than I ever did in any class.

What I wish was different

I wish that there was an increased ability to be in institutes relating to my areas of interest; however, that was something that was simply not possible under the circumstances.

Advice

Just do it. It is gonna be hard and stressful. There are going to be some days where you are just plain exhausted, I am not gonna lie about that. However, this was one of the most rewarding jobs of my entire life so far and I would not trade my time here for anything. Also, come in with an open mind. It will make it a lot more fun.
