What I liked

Gaining first hand exposure to what goes on in venture capital firm's meetings with entrepreneurs from various industries such as energy, education, cybersecurity, and deep tech. I also appreciated the constructive feedback some of my coworkers suggested and helped me recognize the standards of professionalism in VC and the workplace in general.

What I wish was different

Head researcher was extremely rigid and did not appreciate my questions despite specifically prefacing them as questions to clarify matters, not to criticize his methodology. One specific analyst waited until the internship was over to give any semblance of feedback (which logically makes no sense because as an intern I should be trusting my more experienced superiors' opinions on good or bad quality work) and made it clear to me that no one at the company owed me anything. These experiences were quite unpleasant within the company.

Advice

I suggest already being very interested in the VC space; I came to the company to gain first-hand exposure to the industry but my inexperience, despite being my position as an intern, created rifts between myself and others sometimes.
