What I liked
I absolutely loved the idea of working with children with special needs. My major at college is Speech Language Pathology and the clientele I am looking to work with, is the special needs population. It was amazing to see the diversity in the population of young children.
What I wish was different
Nothing! My employers were awesome and treated me so well. Families welcomed me to connect with their children and learn what they like and dislike.
Advice
Once piece of advise for this experience would be to keep an open mind. You are able to help children perform different activities within a gym for children. It is ok to get involved and ask parents questions as well as taking notes on the behaviors you're observing.
