Whitford Country Club

Maintance

May - August 2019 • Downingtown, PA

What I liked

The job was mostly independent but when the daily workload was high, we formed teams to overcome spending excessive time to complete minor tasks. Working on the golf course refocused my time management because we had to avoid disrupting the players during their match. Overall, a lot of determination and self-motivation brought me to the course at the crack of dawn.

What I wish was different

I wish the hours could be different but due to time constraints and player satisfaction, our workforce arrived at the course no later than 5:45 am to begin the day. Understanding that I was working for a more exclusive club motivated me to complete my work with excellence and pride.

Advice

A piece of advice I would share is to put your head down and get your work done because nobody is going to do it for you. Also to take pride in the job you're doing, because the members notice every detail and your goal should be to have players admiring the quality of the course.
