Bob Gillette, the founder of American House Senior Living Communities, started the company in Westland, Michigan. From 1979 to 2008, he grew the portfolio to 27 communities with a group of investors and various institutional financing organizations. In 2008, Mr. Gillette retired and partnered with Dale Watchowski, a longtime friend and the current president and CEO of the national commercial real estate firm, REDICO. Mr. Watchowski assumed the role of president and CEO of American House, in addition to his REDICO role. Since that time, American House has grown to more than 50 communities in the Midwest and Florida.
