Baeble Music

Editorial Intern

May - August 2017 • New York City, NY

What I liked

For anyone looking to get their foot in the door in the world of music journalism, Baeble is a great place to start building a portfolio. The setting was casual, the hours were manageable, and the editorial team was always willing to share words of advice with the interns. There was a lot of creative freedom and writing 4 to 5 pieces a day pushed you to think outside the box.

What I wish was different

I do wish this internship had been paid. Baeble is a small company just starting to make a name for themselves, but the editorial interns did almost all the writing for the site. But obviously, the experience gained is what's most important.

Don't be shy in pitch meetings! Meetings can be intimidating at first, but it's best to speak up before someone else takes your ideas. At Baeble, no idea was too crazy or not crazy enough. Don't be discouraged if your idea is turned down.
