Sales Management Intern

May 2017 • Richmond, KY

What I liked

I liked that I was thrown right into the business. After being trained, they expect that you be able to deal with customers and business accounts on your own. This summer was my second summer at Enterprise Rent-A-Car and I was treated like a full time sales employee. I was given accounts to work with at the beginning of summer and maintained a relationship with them throughout the given time. While finishing school, I still keep in contact with the accounts to make sure that our business with each other is still running smoothly.

What I wish was different

The hours. Some days I would work 7 or more days in a row without an off day. The company is open Monday - Friday, 7:30am-6pm and Saturday and Sunday, 9am-1pm.

Advice

Follow after someone who has moved up quick in the company. There is a lot of room to advance within the ranks and if you look after someone who has done it quick, it will only benefit you for the future.

Management Trainee Intern

May - August 2018 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

The professionalism and prestige of the internship is what I enjoyed. Knowing that Enterprise has one of the best training programs for interns and new hires allows me to know that I got as good of an experience this summer as there is. They treat you exactly like a full time employee and compare your performance to them. They make it very clear how to know if you are doing well or not. I was also introduced to different divisions within Enterprise and was able to job shadow multiple people in other divisions.

What I wish was different

Some of the hours I worked got really long. I sometimes worked 12 hour shifts multiple days in a row.

Advice

Be ready to work really hard and be confident. They are going to treat you like you belong so act like you belong.

Management Trainee Intern

May - August 2018 • Tucson, AZ

What I liked

I liked that I had autonomy. For most of the problems/situations I was confronted with it was up to me to find a solution. This internship really gave me the opportunity ti step outside my comfort zone and take control of every situation. There was definitely not a lot of "I have to check with the manager" situations. I was the manager. My co-workers were also amazing and so supportive.

Managment Intern

June 2018 • Fort Collins, CO

What I liked

I love the atmosphere of Enterprise. The company is truly a community and push you to do your best. They also encourage you to get out of your comfort zone and take charge. I loved being (and still am a part) of the Enterprise family, it's a lot of work, but there is so much support that the work doesn't feel as overwhelming.

What I wish was different

Sometimes the hours were difficult, but with so may promotions I understand why hours were difficult sometimes.

Advice

Don't be afraid to jump in and ask questions. Also don't be afraid to talk to hire-ups. It's amazing how much advice, and how many incredible connections can be made if you just ask.

Management Trainee Intern

May - August 2018 • New Lenox, IL

What I liked

I enjoyed the project where we were able to find an innovative way to improve Enterprise. We were also able to present the project from start to end to those able to implement it.

What I wish was different

I would have rather been in Chicago for that atmosphere, but that is nothing against the company and the business model is supposed to be that it is stationed everywhere.

Advice

Be ambitious because there’s a lot of potential and a lot to learn if you just ask.
