What I liked

It was a GREAT hands on experience for an engineer. We worked in a lab with other great students as well as professional engineers. They treated us very well and were very helpful and informative when it came to studies.

What I wish was different

I wish I had gotten the opportunity to look at other programs of study for us to do for the summer.

Advice

Very educational and inspirational. Being around a campus of great minds really makes you expand upon your own thinking. My creative mindset expanded during this program.

REU Intern

May - August 2019 • Tallahassee, FL

What I liked

I enjoyed that I got experience what it would be like to work in a research environment among graduate studies who are actively pursuing their degrees. The ability to be surrounded by so many knowledgeable advisers and mentors was truly inspiring. They encouraged us to work outside of the box and come up with new ways of attacking a problem. I really enjoyed the ability to utilize the many various types of machines and equipment to work on my own projects.

What I wish was different

My only wish was that more food was provided.

Advice

When you enter into the research, read as much you can about your topic and ask questions to understand what the end goal is.
