Mechanical Engineering Intern

January - April 2019 • Fruitland, ID

What I liked

The company culture and my co-workers were amazing. I loved the ability to grow and learn in the use of SolidWorks and VBA.

What I wish was different

I wish I had prepared myself better to hit the ground running instead of taking time to get used to it all.

Advice

The experience you gain is the most important part of an internship. Never let anything get between you and that experience, even if it means taking an unpaid internship.

Internet Marketing Manager

January - April 2019 • Fruitland, ID

What I liked

Lots of freedom to learn and develop how you'd like to. As long as it fit the scope of what the company was after, you could work on it.

What I wish was different

It would have been great to have more frequent meetings with the owners about what we were doing good, bad, where we could focus our energy on, etc. Essentially more feedback.

Advice

Go into it ready to roll up your sleeves and get to work. Part of the internship is working in the warehouse manufacturing the products. It may feel like it doesn't really apply to what you should be doing, but it's an excellent opportunity to learn the product and the process, and improve on things.
