The experience I got from being able to work in every area of the bank was invaluable. We had access to the whole bank and were in constant contact with upper level management. We shadowed all of the markets team and they spent a considerable amount of time teaching, showing and involving us in their work. We did work that was actually necessary for the bank and not just busy work. Additionally, everyone was so nice and welcoming. It was hard work but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
What I wish was different
I wish it had been busier during the time we were there, but the work came in waves. In the periods it was quiet we were encouraged to walk around, watch people, talk to them, ask if we can help, and read on the internet.
Advice
Network, talk to as many people as you can during it, but make sure you do your work to a high quality. The internship is invaluable to getting a job, whether it’s at that company or elsewhere.

Take any opportunity you have to sit with the associates and learn about what they do on a day-to-day basis.
