Pine Cove Camps

Camp Counselor

May - August 2023 • Tyler, TX

What I liked

This job was so transformative for my walk with Christ and also taught me so many practical skills such as serving tables, taking care of children, and learning how to interact with people of all ages and backgrounds. I’d recommend this to every college aged student!!

What I wish was different

I think that the main administration should have been more directly involved with the staff as a whole. There were also multiple parents I talked to who wished they had been more involved throughout the week at camp, as well.

Advice

Go in with an open heart and open mind and be ready and willing to serve in every way!!

Details Director

Camp Counselor

May - August 2019 • Tyler, TX

What I liked

Everything about it. Moving to Texas from Tennessee for six weeks was hard, but I experienced much growth in my professional skills, personal skills, and my faith. It was a fun environment that pushed you to become a better person and a hard worker.

What I wish was different

I wish I would’ve realized how helpful it was really going to be when I was in the middle of it. Basically, not taking it for granted as much.

Advice

Camp setting is such a great vibe and it is so great because you meet people from all over the country that share the same faith and that’s what you grow in over the course of the summer. You leave with close relationships and you’re ready to tackle on what the world throws your way.
