What I liked

I loved the product. This made the job fun and enjoyable. I use the app daily and loved showing it to people, sharing habits and getting more users on board. The best part about the company is the product was developed to serve the users so we would often perform user interviews and shape the app accordingly. The team is hard-working, ambitious and creative which made the work all the better.

What I wish was different

I wish I was able to work in the office in person but alas the situation made it difficult. The remote work served me well as I was able to acquire and interview users from all over the country.

Advice

Good companies have vision. Great companies have a vision and a team creative and hard-working enough to pivot with the market. This was truly a great company to work at.

What I liked

I really enjoy my work at SnapHabit! I'm very passionate about the app itself and have found my experience to be so much better being able to use the very product and features I'm working on. Before working at Snaphabit I was familiar with React Native but never had anyone to help improve my programming skills--both stylistically and algorithmically. Working here, I've strengthened my programming skills immensely through consistent code reviews and comments, as well as being able to review the code of other skilled developers.

What I wish was different

I'm currently working remotely from India due to COVID-19 and the only thing I wish were different was not being in a different timezone!

Advice

Pick the right project and your work at SnapHabit wouldn't feel like work! You'll have much more incentive to put in efforts and you'll come out of the experience having built great relationships with some awesome people!

Research

What I liked

Everyone shares the same vision and is dedicated to the mission of improving the app. Snap Habit offers a supportive, fun creative environment where everybody is there to support each other. The work was interesting and always changing and evolving providing a great learning environment.

What I wish was different

I wish that I got to personally meet and interact with the staff on a regular basis. They were always available and provided great feedback, support and ideas, but The COVID pandemic has limited face-to-face and on-site opportunities. Although I enjoyed working virtually, I appreciate face to face contact. Although, it looks like the future of the workplace is going to be from home in the tech world and virtual meetings.

Advice

The SnapHabit staff is dedicated to helping you grow. They have an incredible passion for their work and for their desire to make an impact. Their passion is contagious. I was given lots of opportunities to stretch and advance. This is a great opportunity to grow, learn, and expand your skills.
