Retail Salesperson

June 2019 • Boone, IA

What I liked

I work in the sporting goods, hardware and automotive sections of the store. I didn't know much about any of that stuff before going into the job so it was an interesting learning experience. My favorite part of the job is getting to mix paint for customers!

Cashier

May 2019 • New Martinsville, WV

What I liked

I liked how nice and helpful my coworkers are and how my CSM's handled situations. The store managers were always nice and treated everyone with respect no matter their role.

What I wish was different

There was a lot errors when it came to the register its self. Updates in the middle of a transaction. The card readers were consistently making customers insert their cards just to have them swipe making it a somewhat unpleasant situation

Advice

You definitely need to be able to wear multiple masks to handle different customers. Families with children require something different then the grumpy old person who throws their items on the belt.

Walmart Morning Stocker

April 2018 • Chesapeake, VA

What I liked

Managers were very helpful and willing to help in more than "vocal" ways. If we were short handed, managers would not hesitate to lend a helping hand.

What I wish was different

Training was near to zero. There are online, mandatory modules that had to be completed but there was no hands-on training.

Advice

If you like to work hard, then this is a great job. It is very physically demanding but there was no better feeling than watching an eight foot crate slowly be down-stacked, customers being able to find all of the products they need, and knowing your hard work has paid off.

Advice
